Cyclotella meneghiniana: a siliceous algae (diatom) which can be found in freshwaters all around the world, especially in late summer. In real life the cell is the size of a droplet of mist or a thin strand of human hair

Cyclotella meneghiniana: en kiselalg (diatomé) som återfinns i sötvatten i nästan hela världen, framför allt på sensommaren. I verkligheten är algen lika stor som en droppe dimma eller ett tunt hårstrå.

Despre Linda Randsalu Wendrup

Linda Randsalu-Wendrup is from Lund in Sweden and recently recieved a PhD in Quaternary Geology from Lund University. She has always been interested in arts and design and hopes to be able to develop that interest further in the future. She likes combining arts and science and gets a lot of inspiration from the organisms she studies under the microscope: mainly diatoms (siliceous algae) and pollen.

Linda Randsalu-Wendrup är född och uppvuxen i Lundatrakten och har precis blivit doktor i kvartärgeologi vid Lunds Universitet. Hon har alltid varit intresserad av konst och design och hoppas kunna göra mer av det intresset i framtiden. Hon tycker mycket om att kombinera konst och vetenskap och blir inspirerad av olika organismer som hon studerar i mikroskop: framför allt diatoméer (kiselalger) och pollenkorn.
