It was while watching a tabby stretch on a carpet that I had the flash of this design - no surprises here, I mean, cats are just sooo PART of our carpets, aren\\\\\\\'t they, basically cosubstantial, so why not merge the two once and for all? I used a papercut-monotype technique to avoid unnecessary detail and create a texture that could go really well with the texture of a carpet. I don\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'t know about YOU of course but this carpet would certainly make ME feel at home.

Nem túl meglepő módon akkor villant eszembe ez a terv, amikor egy szőnyegen nyújtózkodó macskát figyeltem éppen - macskák es szőnyegek szinte egybetartoznak, egylényegűek, hát miért ne kössük össze örökre a kettőt? Papírnyomat-monotípia technikával dolgoztam, nehogy elcsábítsanak a fölösleges részletek, és hogy olyan textúrát tudjak létrehozni, amely jól illik a szőnyegek sajátos felületéhez. Én azonnal otthon érezném magam egy ilyen szőnyeggel.

Despre Nora Nikowitz

A Hungarian currently living in Belgium, I studied graphic design all right but chose to make a living of something completely different and use my creative energies only for projects that truly interest me. I am captivated by all that is artisanal in the best sense of the word, that is, hand-crafted with great skill, humane in technique and spirit. This is what captures my attention and delights my senses so this is the ideal that drives me in my work too.

Magyar vagyok, bár éppen Belgiumban élek, itt tanultam grafikusnak is, de aztán úgy döntöttem, hogy mással keresem a kenyeremet és alkotóvágyamat csakis olyan feladatokban élem ki, amelyek valóban érdekelnek. Minden érdekel, amit emberi kéz készített aprólékos gonddal, vagyis aminek tartalma, technikája emberi. Ez vonzza a szememet, ezt szeretem, ezt érzem fölelmelőnek, hát magam is az ilyen művek létrehozására törekszem.
